We all come from somewhere and all carry baggage from our past that affects the present. There are times when this baggage threatens to overwhelm us and we run dangerously close to self destructing. Your life doesn’t have to be this way.
In one of Paul’s letters to the Corinthians, he speaks to this very issue when he rundowns a list of all the Corinthian’s past sins but then says, “…and that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9)
Grace Community Church’s Restoration Ministries believes that in order to go forward we must carefully and humbly look back. We must understand the hurts and hang-ups of the past but then leave those hurts and hang-ups to move forward in ways that bring God’s name honor. As children of God, our past does not define us any longer—we are defined by what Christ did on the cross for our sins. Join others who now walk in freedom as we interact over the truths of scripture in communities that value truth and grace.___________________________________
