Q: Why do we give?
A: As Jesus-Followers we are called to give generously and cheerfully out of love for Him and others. We give our whole selves (time, talents, resources and finances) in worship of our God who is the true owner of all we have. Your gift(s) help fund the Mission and Vision of Grace to love God, love people, reach people and develop people in our neighborhood, community, and around the world. Jesus is changing lives through His church and we want you to be a part of it!
"But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us—see that you also excel in this grace of giving." --2 Corinthians 8:7
Q: Is online giving still an act of worship?
A: Yes. Although it is a different means and method of giving (than giving at a worship service) your attitude and motives can and should be the same…it is still an act of worship, giving cheerfully and generously, as a response to what Jesus has given to you.
Q: What is the advantage to online giving?
A: It simplifies your life. It saves time. It saves work. It ensures continuity and consistency with your giving. You can give even when you are out of town. You can schedule recurring gifts. You can print a giving receipt. You can access previous transactions for your recording keeping.
Q: What is the difference between one-time and recurring giving?
A: When you give online, you have two options to choose from. You can make a one time contribution or you can setup a recurring contribution.
With a recurring contribution, you indicate how often you want to make the contribution (weekly, monthly), the amount of each contribution and to which ministries to fund. With either a one time or recurring contribution you can choose to use either a debit/credit card or have the contribution deducted from your checking account.
Q: Where does my contribution go?
A: Your contributions fund the Mission and Vision of the Grace Community Church. You also have the option of specifying the ministry or fund that you would like to directly support.
Q: Why do I see BVCMS? (Grace Online Resource)
A: BVCMS is a company that provides Grace Community Church with our online database and support. BVCMS hosts our software and generates emails from our database, so you will see the BVCMS name frequently.
Q: Why should I create an Account when I give online?
A: There are a number of reasons to create an account when you give online. First, it makes it easier for you to give the next time. You just enter your Username and Password and the system knows who you are without reentering the same basic information. Second, once you have a log-in, you and only you can review your annual giving. Finally, with an account log-in, it simplifies registering for classes and groups at Grace Community Church. Whenever you go to register just pick the Log-in with an Account option.
Q: Is my information secure?
A: We have taken many precautions to ensure your online giving is secure. If you give online using our Grace Online Resource, your payments are processed through Sage, which is a Payment Card Industry (PCT) Data Security Standards (DSS) validated service provider. These standards keep Grace Community Church and the money-transfer system accountable to industry protocol. You will also have access to track your giving through your Grace Online Resource Account.
Q: How do I document my giving without a check?
A: After each contribution, you will receive an email as your online giving receipt. In addition, you can always log-in and review your annual giving. This is the same information that Grace’s Financial Secretary uses to produce your end of year contribution statement.
Q: How do I stop online giving if I don’t like it?
A: You can stop using online giving at any time. If you have used one time contributions, simply stop making them. If you have been using reoccurring online giving, you can cancel future contributions by accessing your Grace Online Resource account. You can also notify the church and we will make sure your on-line contributions are stopped.
Q: Can I still give on Sundays?
A: Yes. We continue to take an offering every Sunday at Grace Community Church as an act of worship in our services.
