Paraguay Short Term Team 2025
After Nicole, 17, shared the gospel with and elderly lady named Rosa, she responded. “I just don’t understand why God would take away my son. We went to church, we prayed for him, we spent everything... and still God took him. How can God be good?” So, we listened to her pain. After a pause, I was able to say, “I know the girl who’s speaking with you. When she was barely three years old, she was diagnosed with cancer and she fought it for three years. Her Dad lost everything. I don’t know why God chooses to take one and not another, but Nicole has come from far away to tell you that God loves you”. The woman said, “there is a young man who comes by every now and then to talk to me about Jesus. He sells chipa (A paraguayan baked bread)...”. I thought I might know that guy so, I asked... “is his name Eduardo”. She said, “yes”. I told her that I shared “Jesus with Eduardo in Bolivia and that if God sent me to tell him in another country, then sent him to tell her, maybe God really did care”. She broke down and cried, we prayed with her and invited her to turn to Christ in her pain and to join the church community.
Last year
Thanks to your support, last summer we had the privilege of going to Paraguay with a team from e3Partners where we spent intentional time first equipping ourselves there, practicing what we would do in Paraguay at home first. In Paraguay, we had the privilege of working with Jesus followers in gospel training then challenged them to share their faith and we went into the neighborhoods and shared Jesus. Many people come into saving relationship with Him! The gospel was shared in the neighborhood around a new church plant in Capiatá and in unreached rural areas near San Estanislao.
Our desire
As we go on Short Term Missions trips, our desire isn’t just to go one time, but to follow up throughout the year and then return possibly two or three times to encourage the locals to keep growing in Jesus and in church community! A handful of us are planning on going this summer to continue the work of discipling and sharing the gospel. We are planning to be away at the end of July through the first week of August.
Support
We really need first of all your prayers! We don’t want to go in our own strength. Our desire is to be led by the Holy Spirit and to do His work! Would you consider supporting us in the following ways?
Prayer:
Please pray for God’s provision and leading!
Please pray for Brothers like Felipe, Eduardo and Hugo who have been following up with new believers over the last year.
Finances:
Our aim is to raise $3000 per person to cover airfare, meals and stay in the country, and ministry expenses while there.
Thank you for partnering with us in the mission of going into all the world to make disciples!
